Salt Lake City, UT – The G365 Salt Lake City Classic made its Beehive state debut this past month with the purpose of giving Utah based teams more exposure on the G365 circuit. The teams competing in the event gave us a first good impression of how truly competitive this market is at the team level.
2023 Exum Elite, led by MVP, Kyle Carley, finished with a 4-0 record after winning the championship game 48-34 over a tough Utah Select Premier team. Exum Elite earned a G365 ranking. Both Utah Select Premier and Xavier Elite also earned G365 MW Region Top 10 honors for their impressive performances. All-Tourney Players include MVP, Kyle Carley (Exum Elite), Max Toombs (Xavier Elite), Kevin Doe (Utah Select Premier), Logan Deal (CV Hoyas) and Micah Madry (Utah Premier Red).
In the 13U division, Salt City Hustle took home the championship and earned a G365 Top 25 ranking. Brody Kozlowski earned MVP honors. Utah Hard Knox and Utah Drive earned G365 Mountain West Top 10 for their play. Cooper Lewis (Utah Drive), Grayson Gaddis (Utah Premier), and David Katoa (Hard Knox) all had strong performances and earned both All-Tourney and EBC Utah camp invitations.
The 12U division was dominated by an up and coming Utah Drive team that has the talent to compete for a G365 Top 25 ranking. Utah Drive, behind MVP, Chance Dastrup, earned a G365 Mountain West Top 10 ranking.
The 11U featured G365 Top 20 UT Hoops Elite. The team had impressive victory over Utah Hard Knox Premier in the championship game that led us to believe they are the team to beat in the Mountain West Region. UT Hoops Elite was led by MVP, Davis Fyans and All-Tourney member, Adam Bywater.
In the 10U division, Utah Select Premier took home a championship and solidified their spot as a Top G365 Top 20 team. Carson Hill, Utah Select Premier, earned MVP honors. In the 9U Division, Boise Slam competed up a grade level and earned a G365 Top 25 ranking for their showing.
